A few words from people who have had some things to say about me.
Alex was the Global Head of Creative at Joe & The Juice where I worked as Senior Designer.
I answered directly to Alex and we worked close together for one of the most exciting year of my career. Alex has a truly infectious and wildly passionate enthusiasm which captivates those around him and inspires others to do the same. Not only he has a great eye for design and copywriting but he also manages to clearly translate this to his team, being inspiring, supportive and energetic Every. Single. Day. It has been an honour and privilege to work with Alex, I could not possibly recommend him any more highly and would be delighted to work with him again.
Alex is a good egg.
He's also really good at his job. Which is probably more important on here.
He's likeable. Trustworthy. Professional. And great to be around.
His sense of humour, openness and approachability set him apart.
He's really collaborative. Embraces challenges and change and is as far removed the precious creative in an ivory tower as it's possible to be.
We worked together on a few brands and projects at AMV and I always looked forward to reviews with Alex as I knew I would be surprised and impressed in equal measure.
Clients love him.
Fellow creatives enjoy working with him.
And he knows a thing or two about wine so he's good to sit next to at lunch.
Sad to see him go.
The quick version is that I thoroughly recommend Alex.
If you have more time:
He's a joy to work with.
Always positive.
I've always looked forward to our meetings.
He's an excellent creative thinker.
Demonstrates a deep understanding of social campaigns.
He has the broader skills to create media neutral campaigns.
Alex collaborates well and I have only known people to enjoy working with him.
I know I have.
Alex Kemp worked with us on two major projects for Guinness and Visa throughout 2017.
For Guinness, he led a team in amplifying a series of potential brand campaigns. This process required open collaboration, both in brainstorming and in creating more finished work for client presentations.
The brand campaign that was eventually made became Guinness’s ‘Compton Cowboys’, campaign, and the DOOH, mobile and social amplification was all developed from Alex’s initial work.
For Visa, he led the team in developing a social film campaign for the FIFA World Cup, which will eventually launch a month prior to the World Cup.
Throughout these processes we’ve found Alex to be talented, personable, constructive, and collaborative. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.
I love working with Alex - he always has loads of ideas and approaches every brief with enthusiasm and professionalism. He has kept me up to the minute on all things digital and is always ahead of the curve.
Every project I have worked on with him he has delivered above and beyond.
Please don't hesitate to contact me for a deeper review.
As far as agency CD's go, Alex is a real outlier — his background as a Director shifted our work across film, content and digital in a big way. He visibly gives a damn about making a dent in culture (and theculture of the team), irrespective of whether that looks like an integrated ad campaign, film series, a talent partnership, original music commission or stupid stunt. He's all-in, all the time. I'd have him as my wingman anytime.
Alex worked with Connected Pictures for over 3 years and in that time wrote, directed, and creatively directed wide variety of projects for a wide variety of brands. One thing that was consistent through all these projects - a fearless, playful creativity. That playful expression continues to shine through all of his work making it effortlessly engaging. You can tell a good creative because they have a strong voice. And Alex has a very specific rhythm to his work that is infectious and unique.
And he's an awesome guy. Good looking, talented and kind to homeless puppies. In fact I don't know why I'm even writing this for him. I take it all back. LCD Soundsystem were right - the kids are coming up from behind.
